OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City University women's soccer team shut out East Central 2-0 at Stars Field on Sunday afternoon.
Malin Andersson, a sophomore from Huskvarna, Sweden, led the women with six shots and one goal for the Stars. Andersson was assisted by Caroline Dixon, a freshman from Manchester, England. Alex Miley, a sophomore from Edmond, Okla., scored the second goal for the Stars in the 77th minute of the match.
The Stars defense only allowed four shots from East Central in the match. The Stars' goalkeeper, Brittany Tibbs, a sophomore from Kansas City, Mo., had three saves in the match.
Offensively, OCU generated 20 shots.
OCU improved to a 3-3-1 record and will face Wayland Baptist (Texas) on Tuesday at 4 p.m. in Plainview, Texas.
